The artist writes, "I grew up in a family of nature lovers and have always found solace in the stoic structure of forests and trees. In my pottery I have tried to capture a glimpse of birch and ash forests by combining an etching technique called ‘Scraffito’ and a wax resist glaze process. The end result is functional and textured pottery with a folk art feel. The glazes I use are all non-toxic and safe for eating. My pottery pieces are microwave and dishwasher safe. This is usable art… so display it, use it, eat off it… enjoy it!"
This piece is ideal as a small serving dish or as a plate - mix and match a set! Roughly 6x6 inches. This particular plate is curved rather than square-edged, and has raised feet on the bottom.
